The cottage Hraun (meaning lava in Icelandic) is more secluded, surrounded by the lava field and a 3 min. drive from the main house in Fljótstunga. It has 2 small bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a bunkbed. Equipped kitchen corner, living room space and a dining space inside and out on the porch plus a small coal grill on the porch. It has a private WC and shower

Hraun means lava. The cottage has lava

surrounding it, hence the name. The lava

field around the house is called

Hallmundarhraun which literally means

the lava field of Hallmundur, who was

a giant who used to roam the area.
