This is a larger cottage with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 6 people and a living room space. It has a sleeping loft with a double bed for 2 people, a sofabed for 2 people in the living room space and it also has 1 extra fold-able bed. The cottage has a private bathroom with shower along, a TV and a big closet for clothes.
the story
This cottage was originally built as a
gathering space for the three little
cottages next to it (Hlíð, Hóll, Hamar). It
was designed and built by the current
farmer at that time, Bjarni H. Johansen.
Lately it has been used more as a
stand-alone cottage and in 2012 small
renovations made that more possible.
the name
Höll means in literal translation a
palace, though in Icelandic it sounds
like the type of palace you would find
in the nordic mythology, like for example
Valhöll, which is the home of those vikings who die in battle and the palace of Odin - the god of all viking gods!
